10 days/9 nights – approximate cost $3050 including airfare from Miami, most meals and Cuban visa. (Single supplement app. $325.)
The CIR travel committee is planning to offer an exciting trip to Cuba. The trip would be for 10 days/nine nights and would depart from Miami on or about Sunday, November 6.
The price of the trip includes a flight from Miami to Havana or Santiago, Cuba. The flights from ABQ or Santa Fe to Miami would be at your own expense. You would most likely have to arrive in Miami a day before departure. Hotels would all be upscale. A detailed itinerary of the proposed trip can be seen at the link below. Details of the itinerary can be changed to suit our particular interests and meetings with local people would be incorporated into the trip. Please note that since CIR would be traveling as a distinct group, the itinerary could be changed to meet our specific needs.
Right now, the important thing for us to know is how great the interest is for such a trip. Since we are working within a fairly short time frame, Steve Kutay would like anyone who thinks that he or she is seriously interested in this trip to contact me directly and let me know. If within the next week or so (from 26 July) the response to this posting is large enough we will offer the trip on a firm basis. Right now, the aim is to get a feeling for how great the interest is and how likely it would be for us to have enough people to form a group. be forwarding the information to me.
If it looks like there is enough interest to form a group of at least 12 people, then deposits for the trip will be due by Labor Day in September. That is why it is essential that if you are interested you let me know soon.
We would need to provide the names and passport info of all travelers at least 7 weeks in advance in order to secure visas. Anyone traveling would need a passport valid for at least 6 months after entry into Cuba.
The trip is being facilitated by CIR working with the Center for Cuban Studies in New York, a non-profit 501©(3) organization.
