Martha Mendoza: Seafood from Slaves

Join CIR for a special presentation from decorated investigative journalist, Martha Mendoza. She’ll take the CIR stage to tell us all about her groundbreaking work investigating slavery in the Thai seafood sector — seafood that often ends up on our shelves or in our petfood. Over the course of 18 months, Martha and a team of Associated Press journalists located men held in cages, tracked ships and stalked refrigerated trucks to expose the abusive practices of the fishing industry in Southeast Asia.
