Due to room restrictions at the library, the day for the upcoming CIR Book Club Meeting has been changed to Wednesday, May 2, for the month of May only!
Location: Santa Fe Public Library
Selected Book: The Quest, Energy, Security and the Remaking of the Modern World
Authors: Daniel Yergin
Yergin won a Pulitzer Prize for his earlier book, “The Prize” which became a number one best seller. That book dealt mainly with the history, geopolitical issues and development of oil and gas worldwide. This recently published book is a broader narrative of global energy issues–covering history, science, geopolitics, economics. The title reflects the scope of this book, the story and the quest for sustainable sources of energy.
Because it’s a long book, 721 pages in my copy, for the May discussion we’ll read the first three parts–Part One, the New World of Oil, Part Two, Securing the Supply and Part Three, The Electric Age. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book and we’ll learn a lot about some pretty important global issues.
Meetings of the CIR Book Club are at the main library in downtown Santa Fe. Meetings are open to the public.
