The Council on International Relations (CIR) is pleased to announce that it has been accepted for a fifth year in a row to participate in the 2014 Study Tour of Turkey. The Tour is sponsored, organized, and funded by the Turkish Cultural Foundation who partners with the World Affairs Council (WACA) to bring this opportunity to local chapters. There are about 15 other local chapters from around the country who also will be joining the Tour. The Santa Fe Council on International Relations is the local organizer for Santa Fe teachers and is a member of WACA.

For 2014, CIR has been awarded five openings on the TCF Study Tour, so we are pleased to offer this travel opportunity to five local area teachers.

The TCF program is in three parts. The first part is a Workshop which is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, from 8:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., at the Jemez Room at Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave.  CIR members and guests who are interested in the history of Turkey, who want to enjoy high quality Turkish cuisine, and would like to meet and support some local teachers who are interested in international education are invited to attend. Seating is limited so be sure to make your reservation soon.

.

At the workshop, CIR Board President Dr. John Dobson will make an excellent PowerPoint presentation on the historical background of Turkey and the SFCC culinary institute will provide a delicious, authentic Turkish luncheon (menu below).  From past evaluations we can safely say that it will be worth your time to attend.Website Posting Turkish Menu March 1 2014
