The 1500 mile long Camino Real linking Santa Fe and Mexico City is more than an historic trail, it is also a fascinating story of more than three centuries of cross cultural interaction. By foot, oxen, mule and railroad, the trail linked Mexico, Spain, and New Mexico in commerce but it also linked cultural identities through food, religion, art and architecture.
Join us for Stories Along the Camino with Dr. Gabrielle Palmer, a local Spanish Colonial Art Historian and Director of the Camino Real Project for a discussion on the cultural narratives and individual lives that shaped the Camino Real.
