Gayle Tzemach Lemmon, a compelling speaker, is an expert on global women entrepreneurs in conflict and post-conflict regions, and the challenges they face. Her book, The Dressmaker of Khair Khana, follows the true story of Kamila Sidiqui, an extraordinary young woman whose entrepreneurial determination became a lifeline of critical income and survival to her family and her community under the harsh rule of the Taliban.

Ms. Lemmon is Contributing Editor-At-Large at Newsweek Magazine and The Daily Beast, and the Deputy Director of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Women and Foreign Policy program.
