Presentation Summary: Immigration issues are on the front page, but many of the assumptions we often hear about the current system are not accurate. David will review the current immigration system and discuss the pending proposals for change. We will also discuss possible effects of immigration on our relations with countries which are major sources of our immigrants.

His presentation will also address additional topics which will be the stage-set for our moderated discussionsHow immigration really works.

  • What are the real problems?
  • Current reform proposals.
  • No one is happy with the current system, but why is it politically difficult to change?
  • Might our relationship with certain countries be affected by our policies.
