“I was taking one step at a time, and then the IVLP was a huge spring board that really had me flying to a new level.” –
IVLP Gold Star Participant Apostolos (Tolis) Aristeidou of Greece
The IVLP Gold Stars’ Tour: Alumni Connecting the World, is a special initiative designed to emphasize the direct results and the overall impact of the Inter-national Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). This spe-cial initiative highlights contributions of IVLP alumni in their home communities and re-connects alumni with U.S. “citizen diplomats” and counterparts.
For more than 70 years, the IVLP has been providing in-depth exposure to the United States to individuals with the potential to advance relationships between their country and the United States. The Gold Stars’ Tour brings highly motivated IVLP alumni back to the United States to visit Washington, D.C. and local communities to share the impact of the program and how their experiences translated into concrete benefits for their home communities. IVLP alumni selected for the Gold Stars’ Tour have made signifi-cant contributions to their home countries as a di-rect result of ideas or events that originated during, or were inspired by, their participation in the IVLP.
