Justice for Journalists under Fire

The Conference will officially open at 6pm at the Convention Center on Tuesday, December 4th. Following an hour of viewing the visual exhibitions (border photographs from Don Bartletti and political cartoons from KAL, Ann Telnaes, Nikahang Kowsar, and Ricardo Cate), testing out the Virtual Reality Simulation, and networking with a cash bar in the grand lobby, we’ll gather in the ballroom to watch the mayor of Santa Fe, Alan Webber, open the conference, and then an opening set of songs from the New Mexico Peace Choir. Following this will be an incisive panel entitled Justice for Journalists under FireThis session will feature Jason Rezaian (The Washington Post; imprisoned in Iran for 544 days), Courtney Radsch (The Committee to Protect Journalists), Jenni Monet (freelance reporter from New Mexico, persecuted and imprisoned for her work at Standing Rock last year), along with one more guest speaker TBD.

Will there be justice for Jamal Khashoggi? For the other 44 journalists murdered in 2018? For the 262 journalists imprisoned in 2017?

TICKETS: one for $10, two for $15, three for $20, and four for $25. They must all be purchased at the same time. Tickets are available here.
