Spotlight Lecture with Q&A

Topic:  Culture of Change: Chinese Celebrations, Crafts Development and Impact on Rural Economics and Social Structure

Presenter:  Visiting Professor Kitty Trescott.  Customs and social norms, rural crafts and the social structure that binds them together.  A suggested precursor to the Spotlight Teacher/Parent Workshop also with Mrs. Trescott. 

Spotlight Panel Discussion with Q&A & Spotlight Workshop (Choose One)

Location:  Santa Fe Community College, Jemez Rooms

Lecture Topic:  The Business of Change: Business in and with China

Moderated by Santa Fe’s Favorite Columnist, Bill Stewart, Professors Trescott, MacKinnon and Dobson will join Darby McQuade, founder and CEO of Santa Fe landmark, Jackalope, in a discussion dissecting what it takes to do business in China against the context of politics, culture and social norms presented in previous Spotlight Lectures.

Spotlight Parent/Teacher Workshop Topic:  Engaging Students with China – Putting a Bit of China into the Home or Classroom

Presenter:  Kitty Trescott

Armed with samples, examples and how-tos, Mrs. Trescott will make any individual successful in presenting different aspects of Chinese culture to students of any age.
