Called “fragile,” “shackled” or the “dark” continent, Africa is far more complex and promising than our Eurocentric approach would have us believe. Often treated as if it were merely one country, subjected to incompetent intervention of Western governments, torn by the battle between the tribal way of life and modernity, Africa is the continent from which human life evolved. From the rise of militant Islam, to the conflicts over resources and the wars, poverty and diseases that color the media coverage of Africa, this vast continent is regularly overlooked, poorly understood and dismissed as unimportant. Come hear three experts, all with recent experience in the modern Africa, talk about the continent’s future.
