CIR TRAVELS AND TOURS
Our next trip is scheduled to go to Cuba in March 2017 — see below for details!!
Travel is a great way to understand international relations. Meeting different people and immersing oneself in a foreign culture promotes true understanding and empathy for another country and its people. CIR typically sponsors one or two trips per year to a foreign country. This is a unique opportunity to travel with like-minded people, many of whom have had broad foreign experience and still seek to expand their understanding of the world through travel.
Trips include, when possible, briefings at U.S. Embassies and visits with former participants of the international visitor program who have previously visited Santa Fe. It is particularly rewarding when international hosts have the opportunity to share their culture and environment.
In recent years, CIR has sponsored trips to Indonesia, Guatemala and Belize, Morocco, Cuba, and southwest France.
2017 CIR Trip: CUBA: Citizen to Citizen Diplomacy
Come join us in Cuba!
Travelers will have the opportunity to engage with Cuban citizens and experts to understand how Cuban people as well as their economy, trade, and politics have evolved during the 55- year embargo by the United States. We will spend our time looking through the historic and cultural landmarks in Cuba while also learning the country’s outlook for its future. The trip will involve seven days and six nights in Cuba beginning March 5, 2017. At least ten travelers will be required for the trip to happen. The price of the trip will be $4350 per traveler. Airfare to Havana and hotels in the US during transit are not included.
There will be reductions in the price per passenger if more that fifteen or twenty passengers join the trip.
